Sisters in the Garden

Lynesse unexpectedly found herself with a block of free time on her hands so she decided to spend it in the gardens. She had yet to fully explore them and wished to do so now. As she walked along, her mind drifted to what it tended to drift to so often since the masque. Lynesse had thought that herself and the Duke of Oakdale had hit it off quite well, at the very least enough to consider friendship. The dinner she had requested had not happened yet but she understood. The kings fall at the Spring Masque must have had everyone worried and scrambling about or so she was assuming. It was amusing, really. One would think that they would run across each other when they were both in residence during the court season. Alas, that had not happened. Lynesse understood that he was a very busy man but she wondered if she was simply not beautiful or clever enough to be on his mind as much as he was on hers. Sighing to herself, she supposed there was no use to denying that she was rather smitten with the Duke. And it seemed to be a hopeless case and she despaired of her hopes and dreams ever coming to fruition. Pulling out of her thoughts, she wondered where her sisters had gone off to.

Finding herself with an easy way out to the garden, and another possibility of avoiding people if she ever needed, Rosalie darted down the garden path, quietly giggling to herself. She had just spent an enjoyable time finishing up the newest needlework piece, though the theme of it had her in giggles for no reason at all. Slowing down once she decided she was far enough from the palace that no one would think it odd to find a young woman her age running about, she set off at a far more sedate pace than she started, wondering about her sisters' whereabouts. Funnily enough, which sent her to giggles again, she came across her sister Lynesse almost right away, and as per usual, the older girl’s head was in the clouds, or so it seemed to be. Deliberately slowing down with a grin of mischief on her lips, Rose gently tapped her sister’s shoulder as a way to get her attention. “Hey, Lyn, wake up, daydreamer,” she teased quietly, not wanting to startle the other too badly. She rather liked her eardrums intact, and there was no telling how Lynesse would react to being startled.

Cecelia was doing some of her needlework, a rose this time, while sitting on the window seat within the chambers she shared with her sisters. Taking a small break as she pricked one of her fingers with the needle, she placed it aside and glanced out the window. Smiling to herself as she saw two familiar blonde heads of hair, Cece stood and prepared herself for a stroll. Walking neither too fast or too slow with her faithful usual guard not too far behind her, Cece approached her sisters. "Hello, my sisters, I trust you are behaving?" She asked, eying Rosalie specifically. "Do not do anything that will give our beloved father reason to roar," she giggled with a slight wrinkled nose that showed her amusement at the idea. None of them were all too effected by the Dragons roar considering it usually sent Cece into giggles instead of the fear it was probably supposed to instill.

Giggling at the greeting from the youngest St. Claire, Rosalie waved a hand to show she was not in any trouble. “But of course, Cece, we wouldn’t want to cause our father any extra problems, would we?” Eyes alight with mischief, the girl noted her sister’s expression of much the same, amused and stifling a round of more giggles. Wondering whether it was the sight of new surroundings, she looked about again, eyes turning back toward Lynesse. “Well? What were you daydreaming about?” Rosalie had a good idea that it could be that Duke she had seen her sister with over the Masque and had a thought that he wasn’t too bad on the eye, but decided to let Lynesse answer herself. Giving a giggle, she gave a curious and expectant look at the older sister. If she wanted to, she would answer, but if not, she would of course take her time about it, considering everything.
