Father: Bryant de Lac, deceased.
Mother: Veronica St. Claire
Brother & Sister (twins): Laurent and Lisette
Brother: Thomas de Lac
Personality
What stands out most about Aristide is his indulgence in pleasures, both physical and edible. His love for women is infamous and often his reputation precedes him in whorehouses. He treats the whores he encounters with dignity and generosity, often befriending the owners as well. One can never have too many friends, he believes, and holds conversations with everyone and anyone. His memory for names is excellent and he remembers the names of dozens of lower class citizens, servants, and the like, as well as nobles.
His relationships with his family members are mixed: he barely tolerates his mother, who insists on pushing the de Lac sons to rule Twinport. She has been and continues to be strict with him, although he no longer is as afraid of her as he used to be (thanks to his newly gained position of power). He prefers to increase the de Lacs' influence and popularity in his own way, without resorting to betraying anyone.
Of his siblings, he is closest to his younger brother Laurent, relying on his wisdom to assist him with his duties. As they are not too far apart in age, he tries to persuade Laurent into partaking of the same pleasures and games as he does, with varying degrees of success. He likes making Laurent laugh, and tries to find new jokes to tell him all the time.
He adores his sister Lisette, also trying to make her laugh. She is one of the few people around which he filters his speech, because he wants her to stay innocent for a long time. He would never pressure her to get married, given her experience with the pirates, and he actually feels guilty when she chastises him. Whenever he sees a pretty trinket or dress, he gets it for her. His generosity towards his siblings is large and at times, needs to be curbed.
Thomas, he fully believes, needs to loosen up and not concentrate so much on becoming a knight. Ari worries that Thomas will get himself killed and wants to protect him. Still, Ari admires how noble Thomas is and the swordsmanship skill he possesses. As such, he wants to remain in Thomas' good graces so he does not lose his youngest brother to another house or corrupt leader.
History
Aristide de Lac was the second son born to Bryant de Lac and Veronica St. Claire de Lac, as their first died a day after birth. Having their heir secured was a great relief to the couple, though it meant a great deal of pressure on the young boy. He had many lessons beginning when he was old enough to talk, bombarding him with information and he did his best to learn it all. He was not an unintelligent boy by any means, although he had difficulty paying attention at times. His mother discovered this and soon attempted to improve his focus by slapping his wrist with a knitting needle. The experience caused him to be somewhat twitchy when sitting in one place for a while, as if he still expects the harsh rap of the needle.
At thirteen years old, his life changed when he lost his virginity to a maid two years older than him. The passion he started to have for girls burst into flame and he often tried to shirk his duties as much as possible to flirt with as many maidens as possible. His parents were most displeased, because as heir, he needed to focus on more important matters. Their actions turned women into forbidden fruit and he took great satisfaction in succeeding to fool around with a girl behind his parents' backs.
When Lisette was fifteen, she was betrothed to one of Rupert de Vere's sons, who was a shallow man and refused to honor the betrothal. Rupert II turned her down publicly two years later. This worsened Bryant de Lac's opinion of the man and Aristide often heard his father ranting about how people needed to keep their promises. Artonian pirates captured Lisette and Bryant did everything in his power to locate his daughter and return her home safely. Aristide helped his father, furious that someone would dare hurt someone in his family. After they were successful in retrieving Lisette and met with the de Veres, Rupert II declared he was breaking off the vow due to the "spoiled goods." Aristide would have punched the man, but Lisette stabbed him before the chance. The de Lacs have all but in name declared the de Veres to be their enemies.
A little while afterwards, Bryant de Lac suspected that something was not right, as a group of pirates were causing trouble for the St. Claires and the Lancasters. He took a ship, determined to discover the reason, but the ship was attacked and he lost his life. Bryant's death stunned Aristide, who was now the lord of the house and forced to make the tough decisions. He felt and still feels lost, though he is doing his best to maintain good diplomatic relations with the other houses. Boosted by his own self-confidence, he is now determined to maneuver his house into the spotlight, though he tries not to be as pushy and obnoxious as his mother. He is fortunate to have his brother Laurent by his side as his right-hand man, assisting him with all the serious earl duties.

Aristide gave the women at the Indulgent Wastrel his goodbyes before he stepped out into the early, early morning light. Once again, he left a very satisfied man and was almost positive that the woman with whom he had shared the night enjoyed herself as well. (If she had not, then she was a good actress, worthy of her job.)
Returning to the house of de Lac always filled him with a tinge of dread, as he knew what work awaited him when he returned. Every time he blinked, a few more hours of paperwork or whatever appeared and Aristide knew that he'd get a head full of grey hairs within a few years. Thus, stress relief was important and he intended to do much of it. Stress just aged him and he was not about to lose to that particular enemy. 'Laughter every day,'was his internal motto, and he attempted to bring that to his siblings as well.
His siblings -- he remembered his younger brother Thomas mentioning something about persuading a new dish with onion jam or something, but it sounded good. Ari loved food and was thankful he had a brother who introduced different recipes to the household. No one was to disturb Thomas' culinary exploration as long as Aristide was in charge, that was for sure.
Aristide greeted Lionel and Franco, the two guards at watch by the entrance, and walked through the doorway to catch a little sleep on his soft bed before he had to work again. Most of the meetings he did not mind, as he had an opportunity to converse with different people (the main benefit of his position). He loved the stories they had to tell and their lives kept him a little grounded, just from the edge of spending too much money and losing himself in selfish desires. People did not just like another person because of their good looks, so therefore he needed to show some depth to support the image he portrayed.
One step at a time.
