Hi, players!
It's come to my attention that there is some confusion regarding account preferences with V5. In order to optimise your experience and ensure that V5 runs as smoothly as possible, I'd like to suggest that each PB profile be set up accordingly.
When you create your account for the first time, please click on Profile in the gold bar at the top. Then click on Edit Profile to select the following:
1.) Go to Personal - this is where you will edit your display name (this will not alter your user name, just how everyone sees the account), set your gender, your player name (if you so choose), and your status. Please remember to click Save Personal Settings once you have done this.
2.) Go next to Settings. You will want to click Yes on Show Participated, Show Signatures, Show Avatars and Enable Drafts (this will save your post if PB fails to load, a situation that happens far too often!). This way, you can see the threads in which you have posted using that account, see all of everyone's pretty images, and preserve your writing in case of PB technical issues. Click on Save Account Settings when you have finished this section.
3.) Go to Privacy. This is where you can decide who can see your email address, if you wish to be visible when you sign onto that account, reveal or conceal gender/birthday, and if you'd like others to see your activity. Once complete, please remember to click Save Privacy Settings.
4.) Go to Notifications if you wish - here you can decide if you want to receive forum notifications, email notifications, or neither. Again, click on Save Notification settings when you have finished.
5.) Avatar - Please *link* your avatar from tinypic, photobucket, or a photo hosting site. Please do not upload from your computer as we have limited storage space at the moment. Remember to save!
It's a bit of a pain, but doing this will enable you to take advantage of the V5 features to their best function. If you have any troubles, please let one of the staff know and we will be pleased to help you.
Thanks!
