1.) Can I make my own character/original character?
- Yes, provided you are willing to either draft a House and recruit for it, or place the character within one of the existing Noble Houses/Foreign Delegations. We have plenty of options, so please share your ideas with us!
2.) If I leave, does the character come with me?
-Unfortunately, no. That role may need to be filled by someone else. However, credit will be given to you as the original player if any part of the character profile you wrote is used.
3.) Someone is using the PB I want to use, but has a different hair color. Can I still use that PB?
- We'd prefer you did not. Only twins should share a PB.
4.) Is there an activity standard? Are they flexible at all?
- We have one, but it can be somewhat flexible. We understand that there is life outside of the forum and it comes first. Family, job, illness, it all contributes to taking people away. However, if you take a major role, we ask that you be as active as possible - no one likes waiting weeks for a reply, and it slows down the story arcs. If you are concerned about this, please speak with us and we can work something out.
5.) Is combat allowed?
- Definitely! Fistfights, duels, skirmishes, pirate raids, border clashes, interhouse battles. Bring it on! Please just make sure you use time period appropriate weaponry.
6.) What is the Language/Violence/Sexual Rating here?
Language and Violence are rated at a 3. Sexual, we'd prefer to keep it at a 2 for now, please. This may change.
7.) Can I join the staff?
- Come and talk to us. We are always needing some help, and people willing to lend a hand. Especially advertisers!
8.) Do you require/are you strict about historical accuracy?
Definitely not. We're here to have fun, not to worry over constant research. If you're not sure if something fits into the time period, we'll be happy to let you know, but we're not going to get bent out of shape if you have something that doesn't necessarily fit the time period.
9.) What if I'm not good at politics?
That's perfectly okay. Not everyone is good at everything, and not every character excels at politics. If your character has a specific talent (i.e. espionage, gossip, riding, archery, weapons, etc), we'll find a great way to work that character into the plots so that they can display their skills and keep it fun.
10.) Are all marriages arranged? What if my character falls in love? Can a married character have an affair?
Not all marriages are arranged, but it was pretty common in this time setting, unlike marrying for love. If your character falls in love, they may have to fight to marry their love, but that's part of the fun. And yes, married characters can have affairs, but if they're caught, they will have to face the consequences!
