Understanding the Order of Precedence

When you want to know who outranks whom, and who gets to walk in front of someone else in a procession, that's where the good old OP (order of precedence) comes in. Every kingdom has one, because nobles can be so goshdarn touchy about their ranks, titles and station! Having an OP firmly establishes where your character rates on the social food chain.
But it's much more than just a list of people's ranks and titles. The Order of Precedence also contains valuable information such as when the title was established, by what monarch, who the previous holders of the title were, family information, and so on.
In the case of Demeria, the Order of Precedence will primarily be used as a tool to keep track of which characters hold titles, what their ranks and lands are, their heirs (if applicable), and of course... where they rank on the social food chain in their respective kingdoms.
