Personality
Riordan can be described as a blend of three famous legendary men: Prince Charming, St. George and Casanova. Determined to be everything that his father was not, Riordan is the epitome of charm and bravery. However, too much of anything can be a bad thing. It is possible to be too charming and it is possible to be too brave. This is a quality that Riordan, though now in his 20s, has yet to learn. Riordan has no compunctions about tearing after a boar on his own, armed with nothing but a spear, if only to prove that he can do it. While that has earned Riordan a great deal of respect, several in his entourage are concerned that his bravery is going to get him seriously harmed, or worse, killed.
Riordan’s charm has worked in his favor. In general, the Lords of Demeria like Riordan as a man who is charismatic, but actually follows through with his word. Riordan abhors merely speaking pretty words to make people capitulate. However, while he may be the makings of a great statesman, Riordan does have his vices. One, fortunately or unfortunately depending on one’s viewpoint, is women. Riordan has been known to go after a pretty blonde lady once or thrice. Rumors of the Prince’s ability to keep a woman satisfied and enthralled run rife through the court, much to his family’s chagrin.
When all levity is set aside, Riordan is fiercely loyal to the family name and the wellbeing of the kingdom. Sedrick Carlisle possesses the reputation of being a cold and heartless man. Riordan wants nothing of that reputation associated with him. He has actively worked to ensure that his own siblings do not become so cold and cruel. For the most part, he has been successful. However, he knows that as the future King of Demeria, he will have to make hard decisions and he cannot afford to be soft. Nonetheless, he is determined to strike a balance. This is the image he tries to convey to his siblings. Whether they accept it at face value or not is up to them. He is a man that has to make an important decision in the near future. Will he attempt to convince the beautiful blonde elder daughter of St. Claire to be his queen, or will he look elsewhere?
History
Born the second child to Sedrick and Diana Carlisle, the kingdom celebrated for a number of days after the wonderful event. The King had an heir to the kingdom and the Carlisle line was secure. As expected, the Crown Prince of Demeria was afforded every opportunity to grow and become the King everyone wanted. What everyone wanted, however, was a matter of debate. Riordan’s father pressed hard on his son’s lessons is jurisprudence, military and stewardship. Sedrick believed in ruling with a cold heart and level mind, but it was quickly apparent to the Carlisle family that Riordan did not possess such. Riordan instead had an innate charm that his mother quickly spotted and fostered.
Throughout his childhood, Riordan was capable of getting himself out of trouble and convincing others to follow through his plans. Unfortunately, this quality brought him at odds with his father more often than he would have liked. The relationship between Riordan and his father sharply deteriorated. Riordan, from then on, was determined not to be like his father in any way. Most in Court and his family viewed this to be a good quality, but, unfortunately, it came with a price.
Riordan’s appetite for adventure was only matched by his desire for women, particularly blondes. There was no telling how many women Riordan had bedded by the time he had entered his 20s, but most do not dare to speculate. Riordan was also known for tearing off on a variety of escapades and it has been touted as a miracle that he has not been harmed, yet. His personal knight, Darton, has pulled him out death’s grasp on more than one occasion.
It was the death of his mother that finally made him calm some. Riordan had been close to his mother, a woman he greatly respected and cherished. It was she that made having Sedrick as a father bearable. With her gone, the relationship between father and son ceased to exist. Fortunately for him, he has managed to keep close ties with his sisters, though his brother is something of a mystery to him. With his elder sister already married and his younger set to be married off sooner rather later, Riordan knew it was finally time to settle on a wife. The question was… who? Julia St. Claire seemed immune to his advances. Perhaps there was a woman that would either tame his wild side, or accept it and encourage it? Which did he hope for? Even he didn’t know.

“Your highness, I just have one piece of advice,” Darton said quietly.
“What?”
“It may be to your benefit to refrain yourself while the Treniatan delegation is visiting.” Darton said slowly, hoping that Riordan would really listen to him.
“Hm? Why wouldn’t I?” Riordan arched a brow at his knight, suddenly eyeing him. “And you clearly know something that I do not already know. It’s too late to pull back now. Out with it.”
Darton sighed quietly. It wasn’t going to work, “The Ambassador is bringing his daughter along.”
“And?”
Ugh. “She’s reputed to be quite … comely.”
“She’s a blonde, isn’t she?”
“… Yes.”
“Wonderful. I’ll be sure to give her a proper introduction to our culture and ways of life. I promise you, Darton, that I will be nothing but a consummate gentleman.”
“That’s what I am afraid of, Your Highness,” came the dry remark.
Riordan couldn’t help but laugh at the man’s comment, a hand coming out to fondly clap him on the shoulder. A foreign woman is coming to court and she was reputed to be attractive? How could Riordan pass up the opportunity?! True, he would be nothing but respectful to the delegation, especially since improved relations with other countries were extremely important. But why couldn’t Riordan have a little fun while establishing said relationships?
