Lord Thomas de Lac, Lord Aristide de Lac
Returning to Triadon was both exciting and a little anti-climactic for Vivianne. She’d hoped to catch the smugglers in Twinport, not a Lintenese duke, but as the saying went, there was no loss without some gain. The man promised her instruction in the use of the rapier, which lessons she took to as a duck loved water. The light, flexible blade was as nimble as she was, allowing her to maintain the acrobatics that were likely to keep her alive, according to Alejandro, against a larger, stronger opponent.
The morning found her practicing her lunges and thrusts in one of the more plain gardens of the Castle. Vivianne took one of her bangle bracelets – really, what other use did she have for it? Bangles clashed and made too much noise for proper sneaking – and tied a length of ribbon to it. Hanging the bangle from a low branch gave her a target – the intention was to pierce the open air in the center of the bracelet with the blade in a single, smooth gesture. She missed far more often than she succeeded, but occasionally, Vivianne knew the taste of success when the fine steel dipped into the round.
Opportunity to see Thomas was rare these days; his family was in the city, she knew, and he had duties to resume now that they’d returned. Still, she missed him and hoped he might have some free time soon in which to seek her out. If nothing else and enough time went by, Vivianne would take the initiative herself and seek him out! It did prompt a question in her mind - would he introduce her, a lowly Trevelyan, to his siblings?
For now, however, she was trying to concentrate on the bangle as the sun occasionally glinted off the metal, trying not to set it to twisting and spinning with her misses…
