The time in Twinport was going to be short. He had to spend most of his time getting the ship secure in the harbor and lecturing the crew to behave themselves during their unexpected shore leave. Oh, certainly, they could sample the many gems and fruits Demeria had to offer, but they were not going to bring shame upon his name due to some thoughtless action on their part. Letters had to be written home, provisions prepared and horses secured for the journey to Triadon. The St. Claire Lady informed them that they would be taking the King's Highway to the west and going through Slateford before turning south toward Triadon.
Before they could leave, however, Alejandro had to first find a gift for Julia and then offer an apology for his rude behavior the first night they had met. Finding the gift was the first challenge. The cargo hold of Espada was nearly bursting at the planks with goods that had been recovered from various pirates plaguing his waters. A sizable portion of said goods belonged Alejandro, allowing him to peruse through for a decent gift. The gift had to be something fun and fanciful, he thought. A tunic made of fine silk may do it. It could easily be tailored into a fitting night gown.
Not that Alejandro was pondering how lovely silk would look on Julia's form, of course. Damn. Too late.
With gift secured in cloth and twine, Alejandro ventured from the ship looking very much the Lord of Loria with fine flowing linens and dark trousers. The lengthy dark hair was allowed to flow free about his shoulders giving him something of a roguish look. Indeed, he would fit the bill for a suitably dashing pirate, especially with fine rapier dangling at his hip.
Twin Tower Keep was his destination, intending on calling for an audience with the Lady of the House. First, however, he opted to make a stop in the castle's gardens so that he could practice what he was going to say. Once he found what he thought to be a more or less secluded area, he cleared his throat to begin his recital.
"In my homeland, it is customary to offer gifts in apology and thus I tender this to you. I add my own personal flourish in that the more lovely the receiver, the more lovely the gift." And then he promptly rolled his eyes, rolling a self-deprecatory statement in his native tongue, "Could you sound more shallow and stupid, Alejandro. Try again."
The perfect apology would be suave, charming and mitigating. He just had to find the right words!
