Personality
Katya is a precocious girl with a love for new knowledge, music and archery. She has a desire to know everything that she is capable of learning, although she knows that she cannot possibly know everything there is to know in the world. However, if it is within her grasp to learn something she is curious about, she will find a way of making it happen. Katya enjoys learning new things and can be seen with a book about as often as she is seen with her bow and arrows. Thanks in part to her hobby of archery, Katya has a keen eye for details and a high level of patience. While she is perfectly capable of staying in one spot for long periods of time, Katya enjoys action to being still. The girl has a love for pranks and trouble making along with a firm belief that her brother Nikolai needs to loosen up and learn how to have some fun. The bad thing is that Katyas idea of fun differs greatly from most of her other family members.
She is fiercely competitive but is not a sore loser by any means, accepting losses as signs that she must simply better herself in that area. She has a love of traveling to new places as she sees it as another means of gaining new knowledge. Katya does not pay much mind to her familys position, and would be as happy being a commoner as she is being a princess. Katya is able to adapt to change fairly easily and tends to be optimistic about life in general. Katya tends to be honest to the point of being blunt which can cause trouble for her family as well as herself. Without meaning to, she sometimes shows a lack of diplomacy. Katya tends to enjoy social gatherings, more so if music is involved. She has a love for risks and challenges, and has no qualms making bets despite some of her family members disapproval. Her opinion of it is that what they do not know, will not hurt them.
History
Katya was born the youngest child of Anatoli and Ekaterina Fyodorov in the winter of 1524. Being both the youngest daughter and the youngest child, there is less pressure put on her than her older siblings. Highly curious from a young age, the girl was often led into various mishaps due to her curiosity. She had no idea what to make of her eldest brother, though she welcomed his assistance when she needed it though she generally preferred to learn things on her own. Still, the attention from her brother made those moments worthwhile. Spending time with her family members is among the activities that she enjoys the most, especially if music is involved.
Katya developed a love for archery as a young girl when a servant took the time to teach her how to use the weapons. She found that it helped to develop her sense of perception as well as helping her to learn patience. Having a skill that also could be a means of defense helped the girl feel more independent.
Katya was pleased to hear of her brothers engagement because she could fathom the good it would bring. The main thing that she hoped for was that the Princess Emmaline would be a compatible match for although seeing the practicality of arranged marriages, she wishes for her brothers relative marital happiness. She also sees the marital union as a way to get more knowledge, of the people of Demeria as well as the country as a whole.
Katya is closest to her elder sister, seeing as she feels that Ana is the main one that actually takes her seriously. She is unsure what her brother thinks of her and truth be told, she does not much care what his opinion is. Katya is eager to explore and learn more of the land of Demeria as well as meeting the people. She is aware that she is of marriageable age but that is currently the last thing on her mind. She finds learning about Demeria a hundred times more interesting than thinking about potential husbands. Besides, her sister is not yet married or betrothed and Katya is of the belief that the elder should marry before she ever does.
RP Sample
Katya had highly enjoyed the performances done by the concert participants. The differing styles had been highly fascinating to the young princess. Making a mental note to see if someone could not teach her more of these styles, she let her mind wander the littlest bit. She had noticed how her brother kept glancing at Princess Emmaline and she wondered what his reasons for doing so was. Had he done something to wrong the princess or vice versa? Somehow she doubted that was the case, considering Nikolai was always on his best behavior. Deciding to leave it alone for now, Katya wondered if the night was over as she did not quite want it to be. She was enjoying this social scene as she often did when music was the center of it.
Hearing her brother challenging the men to a competition, Katyas nose twitched slightly in curiosity. Oh, she wanted to see this. It was sure to be highly entertaining, more so if Nikolai managed to get himself drunk. She was more than aware of the reasons why Nikolai was the way that he was but she reasoned having some fun every once in a while would not harm the man. Slipping in along with her brothers usual entourage, the girl maintained the stance of a Lady but her eyes let off a glint of mischief, as they so often did and often caused silent groans of exasperation among those that knew exactly what it meant. That, being, that Princess Katya was scheming something behind those pretty blue eyes of hers. For now, she kept silent and took stock of the people in the room, mentally placing bets on whom she thought would have the best odds of being champion.
These Carlisles were easy on the eyes, if she did say so herself. While she was not at all interested in becoming a bride that did not mean she was blind. Prince Tristan seemed to be about her age and she made another mental note to find some time to speak with him. If her brother was going to marry a woman from their family, they should all try and find some way to get along. Or at the very least, make sure they knew what sort of individuals the family of the princess was. Waiting for the mens game to start, she secretly wondered just how much she would be able to handle and what the effects would be. Oh dear, there went her curiosity, she could only hope she managed to restrain herself from acting on it!
